Did you know that last year there were 976,000 Christmas trees bought in London alone, and over 8 million in the UK as a whole?
Yet, once Christmas is over and the Christmas tree lights have come down not many people think of recycling their Christmas tree. Moreover, some people are dumping their trees in rivers creating havoc with our ecosystem as the trees can cause blockages downstream.
However, with the help of your local council (you can get compost bins or bags at a reduced price from most councils) you can turn your old Christmas tree into lovely compost to feed the garden hopefully bringing you happiness all year round.
Or you could plant your Christmas tree in the garden – even better!
